Karol Borsuk

Polski muzyk, dyrygent i kompozytor, urodzony 6 listopada 1949 roku wŁukowie. Studiował muzykę na Wydziale Muzycznym Uniwersytetu Marii Curie-Skłodowskiej w Lublinie, gdzie później pracował jako wykładowca i dyrygent chóru.
Na początku lat 80. XX wieku przeprowadził się do Berlina, gdzie od tego czasu działa jako muzyk, dyrygent oraz kierownik katedry w Szkole Muzycznej w Reinickendorf. Od 35 lat prowadzi Chór Żeński Spandau, Lichterfelder Chorkreis oraz Sinfonisches Ensemble Reinickendorf.
Jako skrzypek współpracuje z kilkoma berlińskimi zespołami, takimi jak Musik Viva, Trio Primavera i Ensemble Bizarre.
Od 2001 roku Karol Borsuk jest także kompozytorem. Jego utwory zostały nagrane przez polską telewizję np. Msza Miedzyzdrojska i wydane na płytach CD.
W ostatnich latach jego kompozycje były wykonywane na całym świecie, m.in. w Ekwadorze, Norwegii, Polsce, Szwecji, Rosji i Szwajcarii.
Wśród jego prapremier w Berlinie znajdują się takie utwory jak Gloria, Quo Vadis, Fantazja Dedecius, Fabergé, Mosaik oraz wiele innej muzyki kameralnej.

Polnischer Musiker, Dirigent und Komponist, geboren am 6. November 1949 in Łuków. Er studierte Musik an der Musikfakultät der Maria-Curie-Skłodowska-Universität in Lublin, wo er später als Dozent und Dirigent des Chores tätig war.
Anfang der 1980er Jahre zog er nach Berlin, wo er seitdem als Musiker, Dirigent sowie als Fachbereichsleiter an der Musikschule Reinickendorf tätig ist. Seit 35 Jahren leitet er den Frauenchor Spandau, den Lichterfelder Chorkreis sowie das Sinfonische Ensemble Reinickendorf.
Als Geiger arbeitet er mit mehreren Berliner Ensembles zusammen, wie zum Beispiel Musik Viva, Trio Primavera und Ensemble Bizarre.
Seit 2001 ist Karol Borsuk auch Komponist. Seine Werke wurden vom polnischen Fernsehen aufgenommen, z. B. die Międzyzdrojer Messe und auf CD veröffentlicht.
In den letzten Jahren wurden seine Kompositionen weltweit aufgeführt, unter anderem in Ecuador, Norwegen, Polen, Schweden, Russland und der Schweiz.
Zu seinen Uraufführungen in Berlin gehören Werke wie Gloria, Quo Vadis, Fantasie Dedecius, Fabergé und Mosaik sowie viele weitere kammermusikalische Kompositionen.

Polish musician, conductor, and composer, born on November 6, 1949, in Łuków. He studied music at the Faculty of Music of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, where he later worked as a lecturer and choir conductor.
In the early 1980s, he moved to Berlin, where he has since been active as a musician, conductor, and head of department at the Reinickendorf Music School. For 35 years, he has led the Spandau Women’s Choir, the Lichterfelde Choir Circle, and the Sinfonic Ensemble Reinickendorf.
As a violinist, he collaborates with several Berlin-based ensembles, including Musik Viva, Trio Primavera, and Ensemble Bizarre.
Since 2001, Karol Borsuk has also been active as a composer. His works have been recorded by Polish television — for example, the Międzyzdroje Mass — and released on CD.
In recent years, his compositions have been performed worldwide, including in Ecuador, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Russia, and Switzerland.
Among his world premieres in Berlin are works such as Gloria, Quo Vadis, Fantasie Dedecius, Fabergé, and Mosaik, as well as many other chamber music compositions.
